intresting Q converstaion
Hey I just talked to the meijer mealbox person patty

and I just wanted to post what turned out to be a interesting conversation

1- it turns out that there is going to be a new law going into effect around 2011 or so
the new law was pushed by manufacturers about a few things: MM deals (no more overages), and using too many Q on the same item ( u know u have 10 $1/1 Q and by the time u scan the 8th Q the computer is telling u that u have too many Q - so the cashier has to push the Q through)
it turns out that meijer has just chosen to implement this law earlier

2- mealbox Q - it turns out that within the last few weeks their has been a lot of complaints about how these Q are working - they are working on the problem
in fact patty is going to be doing some shopping using these Q herself so lets hope that she has the same kind of problems we all have - so that these problems can be fixed once and for all
‘shelf cleaners’ beware the store can and does have the power to limit the number of Q used (like it has been doing) so for the most part lets limit the number that we take (I know that I myself will have a hard time doing this - I will start to just drag my family with me or go back the next day)

3- Q redemption - I gave this scenario to patty : item on sale for 75 cents - Q for $1 off 1 = how come u don’t get the 25 cents back ?
(see above this is one reason why this law will be going into effect)
it turns out there is a log of when and for how much every Q is used - so even during this situation the store only gets 75 cents for that Q

I just thought that some might find this interesting

I found this very interesting! Thank you so much for sharing. I sure hope her MB coupons cause problems so she can assess these and get it fixed. I can just see her transaction running smoothly 001_unsure

RE: intresting Q converstaion
Most stores in my area (st. Louis) will not allow overage on a MFG coupon already and have not for a very long time. Some stores you can still get overage on a store coupon though, if your store issues them. The trick there is always present the MFG coupon first so you get full credit for that coupon, then hand over the store coupons. Most checkers are trained to scan the Store coupons first but play dumb or act like you forgot about the store coupons for a minute.
As long as they leave the overages alone you can produce with the catalinas (RR, ECBs and others) things will still be good.
