Super delicious homemade Ranch Dressing
I will no longer buy store bought unless its free then I donate it. You try this recipe and you will see why.
Ingredients 3/4 cup mayonnaise 1/4 cup buttermilk 1/4-1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/8-1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional) 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper 1/8 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon Parsley flakes 1/4 teaspoon onion powder 1/8 teaspoon dill weed Mix well and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving...I usually double the recipe. THIS IS HOW I MAKE IT MOST ALWAYS ~~~~~~~ YOU CAN PLAY AROUND WITH IT THOUGH... 1/4 teaspoon chives (optional) You can even add just a little sour cream 1/8 cup. I did that when I first started making this but now I just do w/o. The beauty of this recipe is that there are SO many ways to make this and it still turn out yummy! I like it with the cayenne but I have made the recipe omitting that and its still great! I have also played around with the garlic. You may want a little less depending on taste. I have done this recipe with all dry ingredients and its very good. I have also used fresh garlic, parsley and chives..for a stronger, fresh from the garden taste ![]() If you try this be sure to let us know what you think! Its SO very easy to make! RE: Super delicious homemade Ranch Dressing
Thank you for posting this (I followed your link from the Meijer thread)! My little girl loves to dip her carrots in Ranch dressing but we recently found out she is allergic to eggs. I have tried the allergy-free Ranch but apparently, it's just not as good... I am going to try this first with regular mayo and then with her allergy-free mayo to see if that works better for her

Do you ever substitute for buttermilk? I never have it on hand, and we don't drink what's left over if I buy it for a recipe. Wondering if doing one of the buttermilk substitutions (e.g., lemon juice in milk, cream of tartar in milk, etc.) would work in this recipe.

I am thinking about subbing mayo for yogurt plain yogurt...but I really like having the butter milk. You can buy it in pint. How about using sour cream...I bet it turns out yummy! They have powered buttermilk--I have some but have never used it, I wonder if that would work? Then you could always have it on hand

RE: Super delicious homemade Ranch Dressing
I have to say, this is one of my favorite recipes. I usually keep a hard copy on hand, but somehow I lost it. Isn't it wonderful that I never forgot where to find it again?!?!?!
