Mperks worked fine for me, the cashier really didn't know much about it, said they implemented it on the website without informing the employees prior to its inception. My discounts came off without a hitch though Smile

What I've heard is that the program was in Beta mode for associates till 8-28. Supposedly it goes live on the 30th. However, I was able to use my $5 last night without issue. In all honesty, there is nothing that the store needs to do for you, especially if you use the SCO. Scan your first item, and then the mPerks button appears at the bottom of the screen. Just hit that, enter your mobile phone number and all applicable coupons come off as you scan. Woo hoo! Free $5. Lol

I think this STINKS. Texting is blocked on my phone--can't afford it. I have never texted (is that even a word) anything in my life. I wish they would offer the same coupons to those that aren't able to enroll in this program. Give people an option.

I don't even know *how* to send a text....so I understand how you feel. This is how I feel about Facebook.
I don't want/decline to have a Facebook account, yet many companies release coupons exclusive to Facebookers who fan their site. I guess it makes them feel good to know that so many people "like" them....even if it is only to get a coupon.

K-Ohio, I'm sure you have reasons for not having a FB account, but I just thought I'd throw this out there. My mom has no interest/desire/whatever to use FB. However, did you know that you don't have to use your real name when you sign up? You can also totally hide your profile so that you won't be seen. We made up a name like "Kitty Couponer" or something like that for my mom. No one has ever looked her up or found her, because her real name isn't anywhere on there. If you'd like the coupons, you could do the same. Smile

Oh, and btw...I live to text. I seldom talk on the phone anymore. I mostly text. Since my sister has been in the hospital my mom can't have her phone turned up a lot of times and she has to keep it quiet on the ward. So, she and I text so we can still keep in touch and I can get updates about my sister quickly without my mom having to call. It's how my brother and I keep in touch most times too. Not to mention my best friend, the kids I babysat for in college, etc. Blush

Yes...I am sure a Facebook account is in my future....I just have a huge stockpile already and don't feel like it is (usually) that big a deal to miss out on the odd coupon or Freebie. (Although I have been known to grumble about it on occasion --)
My reason for not having an account is mostly that I just can't be bothered with maintaining another email/forum/social networking/blog following account. I spend enough time online as it is.....

Honestly, I just got one because the coupons are SO good on FB. I don't really even use it that often. I'm not "old" by any stretch of the imagination, but I just don't get being obsessed with FB like some of my friends are.

i can relate here, i have a pay as you go phone, texting is free for another month or so but then it will cost. i have sent 2 texts in my life and it took way to long to figure it out so i called the person anyhow, i still like hearing word over reading words.

on facebook i set up an alias just for the free stuff. i have 3 friends and they just dont understand why i dont facebook them back...i dont know what that means. i figured out how to like something and get the deal but i dont know about walls and stuff.
