Lafayette coupon issues again!
They will not adjust a coupon when it scans wrong now. Which happens very often! They say they can be fired for fixing the coupon to the coupon price. I'm going to write them. It worked with the printable coupon issue, with dots.

eta, ok not on my phone now so I will rephrase. My campbell's soup at hands and my campbell's spaghettios COUPONS were not scanning correctly. Soup at hand would adjust to $.25 on the 3rd coupon when they are $.50 and Spaghettios coupons were scanning at $.27 instead of $.40 for the 2nd coupon. It may have been a mperks issue this time but I frequently have issues with coupons not scanning correctly when there is more than 1 of the same type. A cashier and Cathy both stated that they could be fired and are not allowed to correct the way a coupon is scanned.

I think it is bull. I should be given exactly what the coupon says when it is over the items price. I can understand if an item is free or less than the coupon but this is not the same issue.

RE: Lafayette coupon issues again!
Meijer had a policy that says coupons cant exceed the final cost of the product. i can go with that. however, if the coupon scans less than the value of the coupon and the coupon doesnt exceed tje price of the item that is just as much wrong in my opinion as one of us committing coupon fraud.

with that said, the states have this little group of people that will help people when they are taken advantage of unfairly like this and that group of people is more commonly known and referred to as the attorney general. you can call them, get a claim form and show proof what you lost and they will fight on your behalf.

i went through a bad time with meijer taking a coupon for a free item and reducint it by 20-40 cents. i told the manager i would turn them into AGs office and he told me that wont be necessary and gave me the difference. and told me that any time i have this problem again to have him page and he would come help me no matter what he was doing in the store. after about 2 weeks the coupons were fixed.

Ann

MPS...ROCKS!!!!!.

RE: Lafayette coupon issues again!
I knew there was someone I could contact but didn't know it was the attorney general. Thanks!
I figure I will start with an email to the store if that doesn't work then a letter to corporate. If still that doesn't change this new policy I fully plan on contacting the a.g..

In my email I mentioned Target's software issues in 2010. Target instructed their cashiers to manually watch and fix coupons and it still made big news. There was talk of a class action lawsuit and it being a violation of Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission's regulations regarding unfair, deceptive or fraudulent business practices

Don't forget that if a coupon is taken off for less than face value that should be marked the coupon by an employee. Otherwise, you are getting jipped and they are cashing in on it for the full price from the manufacturer.

RE: Lafayette coupon issues again!
I had my campbells soup $.40/3 only deduct $.10. When I showed the cashier- she said I can't change it, we aren't allowed... My response was "well if you send that coupon in- you get .40, so isn't that coupon fraud on your part if you don't give me the whole .40???" She called the manager on her little black phone- Cathy came and fixed it, and stayed there through all 6 of my transactions- saying that she wishes they would get new software... whatever...

On another note- apparently our Target (Lafayette) is now only taking 2 like target coupons per transaction. 3 weeks ago they told me limit of 10 like items- with or without a coupon- which was fine- I only had 10 items. 2 weeks ago they told me only 1 of each target coupon if they have to K-1 it, but if it goes through automatically you can use however many you want... that make sense right???? Last week they told me 4 like coupons whether it beeped or not. Yesterday..... was informed that they are changing the limits at our store- gotta crack down on the couponers... last week there were two women that came in consecutively and one tried to purchase 56 boxes of mac and cheese and the other 60... I feel those numbers are quite a bit exaggerated, I don't know if their shelf will hold that much Market pantry mac and cheese- anyway- its that time of year that they change the rules... I give it a month and they will be back to taking whatever you give them...
From the way I understand it- it doesn't matter if it is marked off or not- when the coupons hit the clearing house they are just scanned- they aren't read for the amount redeemed- so if they mark the amount they take it for it won't matter- they still get full value back...

b_kleenex what day did Cathy help you? Even Cathy said they will get fired to me. I emailed them Thursday night but still don't have a reply.

I hardly ever use multiple target coupons. I mainly just go there for Clearance. Baby was still mostly 30% today if you are wondering. Hardly anything was left for baby gear compared to last week when I checked.

RE: Lafayette coupon issues again!
Im not sure how stores can get away with any of this. Every coupon I have ever seen says the coupon cannot be altered. Meijer makes it so its automatically altered. I had a long conversation with the store director before who assured me that they do not send in for face value that they only collect what was the deducted price however they were unsure how they tell which is full value and which is not. To me its all wrong in the eyes of the distributor but what can we do, contacting the attorney general is a good idea bc I think we have just come accustomed to accepting this coupon altering by the stores bc we are still able to save money however its wrong what the stores are doing and seems they have the upper hand bc the other alternative is them refusing to either take the coupon or sell us the product. Its sad.

Let me help you Save Dollarbill

RE: Lafayette coupon issues again!
It was Friday afternoon that I was there. And yes, they gave me the line of crap about being fired too. Said they couldn't change it. And again, it wasn't until I pointed out that the coupon states it can't be altered, and tossed the whole "Well if you only give me .10 for that .40 coupon- then you submit that coupon for reimbursement- you get the whole .40 back, isn't that coupon fraud on your part??? In both the altering the amount given to the consumer and then being paid more than you gave for that coupon???" The manager was stumped, didn't know what to say and said they would fix it" That was when she came out... It was a very long afternoon acutally- I feel like I wasted that hour arguing over .60 (.30 doubled) but, if someone doesn't argue it- then it will never get fixed...

I am a big fan of Target, love lots of their deals, especially the mac and cheese right now. But they change their minds way too often on how many coupons they will take... With the extreme couponing show and everyone becoming more savvy, I have limited how many things I buy in a trip on the hopes that maybe more and more people will try the same. I tend to stick to 5-10 with the target coupon items, and even that will change now...

If we all argue with them hopefully they will change this policy. I actually haven't been to Meijer this week since I am unhappy with them. I am normally there a couple times a week. My 4 yr old asked to go Tuesday but I told him no when I normally would have taken him. They singled me out and made me feel like a bad couponer between this coupon issue and having to get my oynos fixed. When I walked up to the customer service desk for the oyno issue the employee was talking to someone else on the phone about me, saying to wait on Cathy.
