It has been brought to my attention that Sears is not honoring purchases for the rebate that were paid for using a gift card unless you have spent $50 cash oop. Although the rebate clearly excludes purchases made with coupons or promotional offers, it does NOT specifically exclude purchases made with gift cards IMO gift cards are equal to cash and should be considered as such; however, it appears that Sears considers gift cards to be equal to a coupon/promotional offer?! If you have questions about your rebate, you can go to mySEARSrebate.com or call 1-866-212-3760.

Well, what do you think about calling the Sears Customer Solutions number (1-800-479-6351) and nicely explaining to them that you are NOT happy with their decision to not approve rebates that are paid using gift cards.

Maybe your local store will be nice enough to return all the items, “change” the form of payment to cash and re ring the items so that you could qualify for the rebate...

Sears has lost some points in my book!

Just wanted to post an update.

I purchased $50 of Men's clothing and paid using a $50 Sears gift card (from the CVS ECB deal). There was speculation that purchases paid for with GC would not qualify for the $50 voucher.

But, GOOD NEWS!

I have received two email updates, the most recent came yesterday. My rebate has been approved and I should receive my payment within 10-14 days.

I got my "come back" $50 in the mail today!

It's a GC. Terms on the back say:

- valid on a single purchase of $50 or more
- good on regular, sale and clearance
- not valid on footwear, fine jewelry, special purchases, kmart.com, landsend.com, sears auctions on ebay, outlet, catalog, GC, money order, wire xfer, protection agreements and Sears licensed businesses.
- not valid with any other coupon or discount.
- no change back
- one come back cash per order
