The store might be out of stock for the items you are after or you forgot a coupon or your list (happens to me a lot)! Wining kids that help you lose concentration….there are many factors involved when you are strategic shopping. The odds are stacked against us! But…if you are organized it can mean wonders for the time you will spend in the store.

I did pretty good although I forgot to use my pizza coupons…I thought they were out of stock so I put them in the back of my coupon organizer preparing for a rainceheck.. Then I found an endcap and put the pizzas in my cart forgetting to move the coupons from the back to the front. Good thing I caught it when I still had a few transactions left. The cashier was able to scan the coupons and give me cash for my next purchase and saved me time waiting at CS. He called the manager and she told him to do it this way!!! WOo hoo for excellent Customer Service.My receipt would’ve reflected much more savings if I used them correctly however I still wanted to post a more recent trip of mine and give hope to those who might forget a coupon or 2 (or 12 like me)!

I managed after 11 transactions today to come home with:
~~12 Packs of Ziploc Containers that retail for $3.49 each on sale for $2 andI used $1.50 off 2 and got a $2 Catalina OYNO that made them only $0.24 a pack!!! (Thanks mrmaddog to for posting this)!!

~~14 Packs of Ball Park Hot Dogs retail for $1.99 ea on sale for $0.89
I used $0.75/2 Coupons making them real cheap!!!

~~I bought 2 packs of Eckrich rope sausage Retail for $3.99 on sale for $1.67
I used $0.55/1 Coupons making them little over $1 for each!

~~I also bought 3 Aunt Millies Bread (I didn’t buy em smushed but them seemed to make it home that way)
These retail for $3.19 and the sale was Buy 1 GET 2 FREE already a good deal but I had 3 coupons for $0.55/1 making them a steal for good bread

~~I had 4 Grillmates seasoning Retail for $3.49 on sale for $1.67
I used MQ for $0.50/1 and combined with Meijer coupon for $1.00/2 making them only $0.67 each!!

~~I purchased 20 of the Tony’s pizzas which Retail for $1.49 on sale for $1.00 and used $1.00/2 MQ from Insert and only paid $0.40 each!!–I bought these not bc we don’t eat healthy but bc my sis and bro come over every week after Martial Arts looking for food…this is a fast, easy, cheap way to feed them and also makes for dinner or snack in a pinch- LOVE my upright freezer.
 ~~ Also bought 2 John Morrell Off the Bone Lunchmeat which Retails for $3.49 and was on sale for $2.50…..But after my MQ and Meijer MB Coupon I only paid $1.00 each!!!

~~Purchased 4 Jars of Ragu (all I had coupons for) these Retail for about $2.39 on sale for $1.50 but for me….I used coupons too! I used $0.75/2 and $1.00/2 MB Coupons and paid only $0.63 cents a piece. Even cheaper if you shop at a Meijer that doubles! (mine does not double unfortunately but it was still a great deal for name brand and we really like Ragu)!

~~I bought one Lawy’s seasoning salt which Retails for $1.99 but was on sale for $1.39
I used $0.50/1 and paid $0.89 and use this a lot!

~~I got 3 bottles of Bulls Eye Barbecue sauce: It was NOT on sale!! Retails for $1.99
I used a $1.00 Printable coupon found on MPS and the $1.00 MB coupon and got it FREE– BUT ALSO there is a promo through 6/19 that if you buy 3 you get 8 ears of fresh sweet corn FREE–woo hoo I got free BBQ sauce AND free corn!! That is the way to shop my friends!!!!!!

~~I also managed 3 Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce which Retails for $1.89 but on sale for $0.99
I used $1.00/1 coupons I got from a friend and got all three for FREE!!

~~Also was able to pick up 8 pks of Ortega seasonings on sale 20 % off retail and after MQ of $0.75/2 and MB for $1.00/4 these ended up being FREE too..

~~Also got some Minute Maid Fruit Punch on sale for 99 cents Retails for about $1.89….So you see just shopping by what is on sale can save TONS then you pair it with a coupon and you will Never Shop the old way again. You will love shopping the MPS way!!

Come on who does not need FREE FOOD.. We all do…when I see people lined up at those food trucks for free food for the needy I just wish I could hold a meeting and show them how they could be getting FREE FOOD ALL THE TIME :)

~~~~Oh, and I almost forgot…I also purchased 4 plastic storage totes. Two light blue and two dark blue for easy organization :) Time for Spring cleaning and putting winter stuff up. Yay! I used catalinas from last week and bottle returns and that transaction total was negative $0.50!!!

    Total of 11 transactions~Whew bc I had to split up the hot dogs and the ziploc…Great thing for Awesome Cashiers!! Not too bad for having to wait till the end of the week to go shopping.

    So I added up Total Savings=$154.90 but it would have been much higher had the pizza coupons actually come off the receipt correctly…oops and if you consider the savings of the catalinas as well!!!Total spent $32.03 that is including all tax and between all receipts including the $12 off that they gave me in cash for pizza coupons that were deducted on a separate transaction

    **Its not about messing up….its about how you go about fixing it!! Not to mention I left w/o my rainchecks..but I WILL LIVE. Even the Best of Best mess up sometimes.

    For the Ziploc I paid $2.74 for the first one then rolled the catalinas into the next purchases. Yay! I love when they Roll!!

    How about paying the same as one pack of Ball Park Hot Dogs would cost you but shopping the MPS way you get 4 Packs!
    **I have a basic rule when stocking up so that you don’t go over your intended budget when first starting to stockpile. For the retail price that you would be getting the item w/o coupons and w/o sale buy as many as gets you there. LIke with the hot dogs. Because of coupons I could get 4 packs for the same as one would cost me retail. I did that with the mayo last week too. I bought 4 bc reg price was $3.99 but with coupons just $1 each!!!!

    All the reasons couponing is worth it. Not only do coupons provide tons of free stuff but they also help free up a little money for debt as the money wouldv’e other wise been thrown away. I say this because it is insane of the cost of certain items. It seems prices at the store are ever rising. I stop and look sometimes at retail and I would never been able to make it without coupons. Inflation does not affect me anymore. Higher than ever prices don’t affect me. Not to mention the free food I constantly get helps me live off my pantry, never paying full price for anything! I used to think $1.00 was a great deal on bread. Now I won’t pay more than $0.55 and I have even gotten it cheaper. This is for name brand healthy stuff no generics here. Stores love coupons because even though I pay nothing or little out of pocket the store will be re-imbersed for the value of the coupon Plus $0.08 handling fee, so the store actually makes more money off those who use coupons!
